Five to Thrive Newsletter: January 14th, 2025
Fuel Your Day with Ideas, Reflection, and Motivation
January 14th, 2025
Welcome to Day 14 of the Five to Thrive newsletter!
Every day, we’ll explore one bucket list highlight, one adventure idea, one quote to motivate, one question for reflection, and one song to inspire.
1 Bucket List Highlight
A big goal of mine is to host a podcast. Connecting with interesting people, sharing impactful stories, and diving into meaningful conversations is something I truly aspire to do.
1 Adventure Idea
Reach out to 10 people I like to call “did-its.” Personally, I keep spreadsheets of these people to stay organized and intentional about connecting with them. These are the individuals in your industry or dream career who have already accomplished what you aspire to achieve. If you’re thinking big enough, some of these people may feel out of reach but in reality, they’re often closer than you think.
To help you get started, I’ve included a customizable email template at the end of today’s newsletter you can use to connect. Take the leap and start with just 1 email!
1 Quote to Motivate
“Anything is possible with you have a path, a plan, and a desire to take action.”
~ Dean Graziosi
1 Question for Reflection
If you could talk to your younger self right now, what advice would you give?
1 Song to Listen To
“Best Day of My Life” by American Authors – It’s impossible to be in a bad mood after listening to this song.
Email Template That Works!
Subject: Quick question from [Your Name]
Dear [Name],
I know you’re incredibly busy and likely receive many emails, so I’ll keep this short and only 60 seconds to read.
My name is [Your Name], and I’m [a brief one-sentence introduction about yourself: your current role, aspirations, or what makes you relevant to them]. I’ve been following your journey, especially [specific mention of their achievement or work you admire], and it’s incredibly inspiring.
I’m reaching out because [your specific question or request, e.g., "I’d love to hear about how you got started in X" or "What advice would you give someone aiming to do Y?" The more unique the question the best chance at a response. Could even be about a shared or interest or hobby outside of their professional career]. Maybe somebody earlier in your career helped you, and this could be your opportunity to do the same for me.
I completely understand if you’re busy, but even a quick one or two-line reply would mean the world to me.
Thank you so much for your time!
Best regards,
[Your Name]
