Fuel Your Day with Ideas, Reflection, and Motivation
January 18th, 2025
Welcome to Day 18 of the Five to Thrive newsletter!
Every day, we’ll explore one bucket list highlight, one adventure idea, one quote to motivate, one question for reflection, and one song to inspire.
Today’s theme is inspired by my current trip to Nashville. It’s a fitting backdrop for reflecting on the legacy of my grandfather, a lifelong musician whose love for music and dedication to it have shaped my perspective. Let’s dive in!
1 Bucket List Highlight
Playing music with my grandfather is a dream of mine. He was part of a band called The Country Boys that made it as far as Nashville to record music, but life took over and the members prioritized providing for their families. They still played numerous shows across Indiana while working full-time jobs, even opening for big acts like Alabama. Until recently, he’d adjust his house antenna every week just to catch the Opry on the network. He is a true lover of country music.
1 Adventure Idea
Try a new instrument. You never know, you might discover a hidden talent or passion.
1 Quote to Motivate
“One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain.”
~ Bob Marley
1 Question for Reflection
What’s one professional goal you’re working towards?
1 Song to Listen To
“Don’t Rock the Jukebox” by Alan Jackson – Although, I’d argue my grandfather’s version is even better. It’s got that authentic and heartfelt touch you can’t replicate.
Here’s to thriving together one step at a time. Thanks for being part of the journey!
Dream big, do bigger,
